Noon hour concert at LCMS celebrates Community Day

Residents invited to tour music school and enjoy a free concert on May 5

Langley Community Music School is hosting its annual Community Day Celebration and open house on Saturday, May 5, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The community is invited to enjoy a free children’s concert at noon, featuring Ferdinand the Bull and other musical stories.

There will be performances by Joel Stobbe (cello), Elizabeth Bergmann (piano), and guest artist Calvin Dyck (violin).

“We’re inviting the community to come to our beautiful facility to enjoy a music filled family event,” said Susan Magnusson, LCMS principal.

“We want to ‘bring music to life’ in our community and what better way than to provide children the opportunity to hear a musical story performed by Langley’s own outstanding musicians.

“I hope that young families will take advantage of this free concert made possible by the support we receive from the province of B.C. and our corporate and private donors.”

The noon hour concert will also feature LCMS’ cello octet and concert orchestra. Admission is free. Tickets are available at 604-534-2848.

Community Day is open to everyone, and attendees can enjoy refreshments, meet teachers, learn about programs and classes, and tour the facility.
