Environmental artist Desirée Patterson is hosting an Earth Day artist talk this Saturday, April 22 at the Van Dop Gallery in Vancouver.

Beginning at 2 p.m., Patterson, who grew up in Langley, will discuss her current exhibit, Inspiring Preservation: An Alternate Perspective, and the ideas of environmental stewardship through photography and art.

In her work, Patterson morphs photographs of models with landscapes of cities, clear-cut forests and oil refineries to create juxtapositions that will start a larger conversation.

Inspiring Preservation: Alternative Perspectives, an exhibition curated for the Capture Photography Festival, will continue to show at the Van Dop Gallery until April 28.
