Sweet Max are ready to rock this weekend to help fill the cupboards of local food banks.

The third annual Community Cares Food Bank Fundraiser supporting the Langley/Aldergrove Food Bank happens Aug. 26 and 27.

The fundraiser goes Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. — Sweet Max starts playing at 6:30 p.m., and from noon to 8:30 p.m. Sunday — Sweet Max hits the stage at 4 p.m. that day.

Attendees are urged to bring a donation in support of the local food bank. The fundraiser includes snacks and refreshments, pizza by the slice (by donation with proceeds to the food bank), and live music by Sweet Max.

Someof the most needed donations are: cheque/cash donations, rice and pasta dinners, canned meat and fish, canned fruit and vegetables, sandwich spreads (jams and jellies), gift cards for grocery and department stores, canned stew and pasta, baby food, and baby diapers (especially larger sizes).

Donations are being accepted from noon to 10 p.m. and those who can’t make it to the fundraiser, can still donate by calling 604-617-2227 or email communitycares@live.ca.

Any cheque donations of $20 or more will receive a tax receipt in the mail.

The pizza is being donated by Donna and Dave Dorozio.
