Table is set for Fort Gallery’s annual Blue Plate Special

Tickets are now available for $38 and $200 for this Friday’s event

It’s art a la carte.

The Fort Langley Community Hall is about to welcome the Fort Gallery’s biggest event of the year, the 2012 Blue Plate Special.

Open to the public, and happening at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12, the Blue Plate Special is an annual fundraiser held to support Langley’s most innovative art gallery, the Fort Gallery.

Returning once again as master of ceremonies for the evening, will be local comedian and improv performer Elaine Brewer-White.

The band Lavalights will play live, bringing their blend of swing, soul, R & B, and blues standards and originals, for dancing, listening, or just grooving.

Food and silent auction items will be provided by a number of local businesses from Langley and Fort Langley.

Thirty-eight tickets, at a price of $200 each, have been made available to purchase.

Those 38 ticket numbers will be randomly drawn, with the holder of the first ticket drawn being the first person to choose an original contemporary work produced by one of the gallery’s artists, worth more than the price of admission.

The person holding the next ticket drawn will then choose from the remaining works, and so on.

The evening will also include an appetizer buffet, live music, and access to a silent auction of more great art.

For those not wishing to take part in the $200 ticket draw, $30 tickets are also available. These tickets will allow access to everything else, including the silent auction, the appetizer buffet, and music.

Tickets can be purchased from the Fort Gallery, in person or by phone at 604-888-7411, Wednesdays to Sundays, from noon to 5 pm.

Wonderful original art is yours for the taking in a great venue with great food, company and music. For more information, visit the gallery’s website at www.fortgallery.ca.
