VIDEO: Langley country star releases next single

Coming off a run with his former rock band, Dallas Smith unveils his latest country song Friday.

Multiple JUNO and CCMA award-winning entertainer Dallas Smith released his latest single Rhinestone World, today – on the heels of breaking another chart topping record.

Smith’s hit Make ‘Em Like You earned him his sixth career #1 and fifth consecutive chart-topper, crowning him as the Canadian Country artist with the most number one songs in the Nielsen BDS era – surpassing Shania Twain’s five.

Smith recently celebrated his third gold-certified album with the 2017 top-selling Canadian country album Side Effects, which also earned him the title of the first and only Canadian artist in both the Nielsen BDS and Mediabase era to have four consecutive #1 singles from the same album (Autograph, Side Effects, Sky Stays This Blue and Sleepin’ Around), besting Twain’s three from her 1997 album Come On Over.

This fall, Smith took home the trophy for both male artist of the year and video of the year (Sky Stays This Blue) at the 2018 CCMA Awards in Hamilton, Ont., adding to the three won in 2017 for top-selling Canadian album of the year, album of the year, and single of the year.

Smith “has blazed a path across genres in music” (CBCMusic) for nearly two decades, and currently holds the record for the most one-week spins for a song at the country format by a Canadian artist, with the second highest one-week spin total at the format by any artist, only trailing ACM Entertainer of the Year Jason Aldean’s Drowns The Whiskey.

OTHER RECOGNITION: Fans have a chance to vote Dallas Smith as their favourite

The B.C. native hit the road earlier this summer for a handful of live festival dates including headlining plays at the Rockin’ River Musicfest and Cavendish Beach Music Festival and direct support slots at Big Valley Jamboree, Boots and Hearts Music Festival and Dauphin’s Countryfest.

OTHER GENRES: Langley singer returns to ‘default’ position

Fresh off the road from touring with his recently reunited, multi-award winning, Platinum-certified rock band Default, which included both solo headlining dates and support slots on the Stone Temple Pilots and Seether national co-headline tour, Smith was just announced as a headliner at the 2019 Country Thunder Music Festival.
