Cats by nature stretch and bend and contort themselves around humans. Now humans have a chance to do the same around kittens.

The Langley Animal Protection Society is offering Kitten Yoga with Brunch on Aug. 26. LAPS hosted a kitten yoga sessions over a five-week period this summer to raise awareness of the work of the local animal shelter and its adoptable animals.

“Start your morning with a 75-minute Hatha gentle flow/relaxation from WaterfallYoga and LAPS’ little kitten friends trying to join mew in your practice,” said LAPS Emily Bush.

After the floofy fitness session, there’s brunch with mimosas and a meal by Well Seasoned.

The event is restricted to those 19 and older, and space is limited. Registration is through the LAPS website.

Participants are advised to bring a yoga mat, towel and water. LAPS provides the furry workout partners. Tickets are $60 and the event takes place at the Fort Langley Community Hall starting at 9:30 a.m.
