Early voting opportunities in Langley

Advance voting has begun and local citizens can cast their ballots.

General voting day is drawing closer, but there are opportunities to vote before that. Both Langley City and Township are holding multiple advance polling opportunities in the community.

Langley Township

Langley Township’s advance polls began on Oct. 10, and continue with seven more opportunities:

• Thursday, Oct 11, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Fort Langley at the Riverside Community Amenity Room, 9275B Glover Rd.

• Friday, Oct. 12, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Walnut Grove at the Walnut Grove Recreation Centre, 8889 Walnut Grove Dr.

• Saturday, Oct. 13, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Willowbrook at the Township Civic Facility, 20338 65th Ave.

• Monday, Oct. 15 , 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Aldergrove at the Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre multipurpose room at 27032 Fraser Hwy.

• Tuesday, Oct. 16, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Murrayville at the W.C. Blair Recreation Centre, 22200 Fraser Hwy.

• Wednesday, Oct. 17, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. in Brookswood at the George Preston Recreation Centre, 20699 42 Ave. Room C.

• Thursday, Oct. 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Trinity Western University, 7600 Glover Rd., David E. Enarson Gymnasium.

There are 14 voting places in Langley Township on general voting day on Oct. 20. All of them will be open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Langley City

Langley City’s advance polls are all held at the Timms Community Centre, located at 20399 Douglas Cres.

Advance voting in the City began on Oct. 9 and 10, and continues with two more polls:

• Oct. 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

• Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Langley City’s general voting takes place at Nicomekl Elementary at 20050 53rd Ave. on Oct. 20, from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

To see the candidates in person, there are still three major all-candidates meetings coming up:

• Thursday, Oct. 11 the Willoughby Residents Association will host an all-candidates meeting from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Shepherd of the Valley Church auditorium at 20097 72nd Ave. A suggested donation of $5 is requested for entry.

• On Friday, Oct. 12, the the Langley Seniors Community Action Table has organized a Langley Township all-candidates meeting at the Langley Seniors Centre Resource Centre from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

• On Tuesday, Oct. 16 the Greater Langley Chamber of Commerce hosts a debate, open to all six mayoral candidates for City and Township, as part of the chamber’s dinner meeting at the Cascades Casino, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tickets available from chamber.
