Williams Park will be decorated with thousands of lights and festive figures that the public can see Dec. 1 to 15.
But in order for that to happen, the park must be decorated, and volunteers are being sought to help with set up 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 25 and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26.
“It’s an opportunity for the volunteers to get into the Christmas spirit,” said Scott Johnson, the Township’s Park Services coordinator.
Anyone is welcome to sign up. He said there’s a mix of helpers. Groups have includes PACs, Beavers, Cubs and Guides. Plus some families use it as a chance to help out in the community
“It’s a lot of families and they want to bring their kids,” he added.
Help is also needed for take down Dec. 16 and 17 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
Another opportunity is as greeters during the two weeks of the 27th annual Christmas in Williams Park. Greeters are needed 5 to 9:30 p.m. from Dec. 1 to 15.
There are about 5,000 strings of lights being installed along with figures and decorations. The volunteer Christmas in Williams Park Society hosts the annual event with support from Langley Township.
