Bowling has provided better lives to stray, abandoned, and unwanted cats for 13 years.

Now the 14th annual CARES cat shelter Fun Family Bowling Night continues the tradition.

People can sign up for bowling at Willowbrook Lanes from 6:30 to 10 p.m. on Saturday, March 3.

The cost is $25 per person, and includes shoe rental and appetizers. Organizers have also arranged for a silent auction and basket draws.

The bowling alley is at 6350 196th St., and the bowling starts at 7 p.m. sharp.

To get tickets for this popular annual event, contact Clive, 604-533-4007 or cpdruce@shaw.ca, or Carol at 604-202-0713 or ccbriner@telus.net.

The Canadian Animal Rescue and Extended Shelter (CARES) is based in Milner but also has an adoption centre in the Langley PetSmart store.

The shelter posts photos and details about adoptable cats at carescatshelter.com.

Adoptable cats are also at its Milner shelter, which is open by appointment.

As with all animal shelters in B.C., CARES is a no-kill facility. If it can’t find forever homes, it cares for the cats for their lifetime.
