Women are being invited to an free evening of “empowerment” being offered later this month in Langley.

Jennifer Maggio will share her personal story of homelessness, abuse, and multiple teen pregnancies – and what she did to grow and move on to the point of running a Fortune 500 company.

It’s part of her empowerment presentation being offered Saturday, Oct. 21, at Church in the Valley in Langley.

Maggio is a wife and mother of three whose new phase of life inspired her to give back. She does that through the creation of The Life of a Single Mom, a global non-profit organization in which she uses her expertise in single-parent family issues to minister to both single parents and those who support them.

Today, Life of a Single Mom is the industry leader in single mom support development and reaches more than 50,000 single mothers annually.

Maggio asks if there were moments in life, or in the life of women you know, when circumstances seemed insurmountable? Did someone make a difference by supporting you or your loved one?

Whether this is your story, or the experience of a woman you care about, you are not alone in this journey.

Maggio, who is also an author, said she and others have been there, and are now on the other side, ready to walk and breathe their encouragement into their lives.

And that’s the message Maggio speaks about at conferences all over North America educating communities, the public, and churches on how to help single-parent families.

“This is a night of empowerment for women of all ages and all walks of life,” said Stephanie Hall, one of the Langley event organizers.

This local evening is being presented by Church in the Valley and Acts of Kindness, with doors opening at 6:15 p.m. for registration and free child care.

“At 7 p.m., the children will get to climb the rock wall, play games, and jump in a bouncy castle while the women spend time enjoying appetizers and listening to Jennifer Maggio share her riveting story,” Hall said.

To pre-register, people can call 604-514-8335 or email hello@churchinthevalley.ca.
