The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 21 Langley is overseeing Remembrance Day services in Langley City.
Events get underway at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
A parade of dignitaries begins the events from the legion to Douglas Park, where the cenotaph is located. Led by the colour party, the parade will include veterans, first responders, cadets, Scouts and Brownies, and many oter on the march to the cenotaph.
“Langley City council will also be attending the Langley Legion Branch 21 Remembrance Day Parade and Ceremony on Nov. 11,” said City Mayor Ted Schaffer.
Large crowds are typical for the City ceremony which will include speeches, prayers, wreath laying and the involvement of many community groups.
The ceremony at the park usually begins a few minutes before the observation of two minutes of silence at 11 a.m. Members of the public will want to be at the park prior to the start of the parade.
During the ceremony, people will start to hear the faint hum of aircraft engines, signalling the Fraser Blues formation flying team flypast.
The legion branch is at 20604 Logan Ave. Douglas Park is at 20550 Douglas Cres.
