The fourth annual butterfly release at Langley Gardens is open to the public.

On the afternoon of Thursday, Aug. 30, people will see painted lady butterflies released in the gardens of the Chartwell seniors complex at 8888 202 St.

“Make a wish, release in honour of a loved one or simply enjoy the beauty of the moment,” said Chartwell’s Lianne Thomlinson. “This unique, family friendly event also includes refreshments and entertainment as well as a silent auction with all proceeds being donated to the hospital foundation.

People can purchase a painted lady butterfly at the event for $10, but the supply is limited. For more information, contact 604-888-0228. The event runs from 2 to 4 p.m.

The event is to raise funds in support of the Langley Memorial Hospital with the money raised going to the hospital foundation.

“Chartwell Langley Gardens values the support provided by the Langley Memorial Hospital and embraces the opportunity to show their appreciation. Langley Gardens encourages the community to come out and support this great cause,” she said.
