Langley Township is looking for volunteers from all local neighbourhoods to sign up for a new advisory task force.

The Community Input Group Task Force (CIGTF) has been created by council to consult with Township residents and stakeholders to identify common concerns and priorities that council may include as important components in future budget and resource planning.

To represent a broad range of interests, the volunteer task force will be made up of 15 community members, one member from the Langley Environmental Partners Society, one chairperson, and all nine members of council.

Applications are now being accepted and one representative is being sought from each of Langley’s communities: Aldergrove, Brookswood-Fernridge, Fort Langley, Murrayville, the rural area, Walnut Grove, and Willoughby-Willowbrook.

One representative from the business community, business association, or business improvement association from each of the communities of Aldergrove, Brookswood-Fernridge, Fort Langley, Murrayville, Walnut Grove, and Willoughby-Willowbrook is also needed.

One representative from the agricultural community and one from the recreation and culture community is also being sought.

To apply to serve on the Community Input Group Task Force, visit tol.ca/cigtf. Application deadline is 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 16 and applications will be forwarded to Township council for review and selection.

CIGTF members will be required to attend three monthly meetings on weekday evenings from approximately from April to July 2018. Meeting dates are to be determined.
