Langley celebrated Canada Day with music, balloons, classic cars, and kittens.
Events were held all over the community, including:
• A Canada Day celebration at the Langley Events Centre and Willoughby Community Park with everything from face painting to live music and dance to a mini-farmers market and a trackless train.
• Fort Langley saw events in the National Historic Site, where 50 new Canadians took their oaths of citizenship, and on the street in front of the Centennial Museum, where quick draw artists fired blanks, balloon artists handed out custom creations, and tykes and adults got to visit a petting zoo.
• Langley City held a mid-day picnic with music from bands including The Comebacks on the bandshell in Douglas Park.
• The Canada D’eh Car Show was held on the old Langley Speedway in Campbell Valley Park at the foot of 208th Street. Hundreds of classic and custom cars basked in the sunshine as rockabilly music played.
