Planes at the Canadian Museum of Flight are looking much cleaner and shinier thanks to a big contingent of young men from a high school in Surrey and Quebec.
The boys rugby players from Lord Tweedsmuir Secondary in Surrey and the Beaconsfield High School in Beaconsfield Quebec spent Monday, March 12 at the museum located at the Langley Regional Airport.
The students are taking part in the YMCA’s Youth Exchanges Canada. The Surrey students are hosting the Quebec visitors and in April will go there for a week.
As part of the program, the young people must do eight hours of community service, and spent a warm and sunny Monday helping at the museum. The young men washed heritage aircraft, waxed certain parts of the planes, sanded down wood furniture, cleaned and did other jobs.
