Two Walnut Grove area schools were locked due to a police incident Wednesday morning but they have since been reopened.

“Dorothy Peacock and Gordon Greenwood Elementary were in a Hold and Secure Lockout due to an RCMP incident in the area,” the district website said.

A 10:30 a.m. update said the hold and secure lockout was lifted.

On the advice of RCMP, and out of an abundance of caution, these emergency protocols were engaged for the safety of students and staff. In a Hold and Secure Lockout, exterior doors to the school are locked and no one may access the school.”
