A new exhibition opens up in Fort Langley this week at the Fort Gallery.

South Langley painter Susan J. Falk opened her latest show, Living Colour, on Wednesday, but the exhibit remains up until June 4, with an opening reception and a chance to meet the artist from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 21.

Falk’s exhibition showcases her trademark colourist strokes, said gallery manager Margaret Campbell, calling the exhibit “breathtaking.”

Working primarily in a pure colour palette using oil paint, these landscapes bring the viewer into the world of a walk she took while visiting Campbell Valley Regional Park in South Langley – an entangled mass of water, multi-coloured foliage and brambles.

Also joining this colour fest are Falk’s figurative works with models artfully arranged, clothed and unclothed, drenched in colour.

Falk will also be speaking about her work at the gallery’s First Thursday event on June 1, from 7 to 9 p.m.
