The much-anticipated Christmas light maze started shining bright Thursday night in Vancouver.
The “Enchant” event, at 1st Avenue and Crowe Street near Olympic Village, features music, food vendors, a Christmas market, and 55,000 square feet of illuminated sculptures arranged throughout a maze with a 64-foot tall tree illuminated by 85,000 LED lights.
It runs Nov. 25 to Dec. 31 from 4-10 p.m.
Four things to know before visiting the maze:
1. Wear waterproof shoes
The grounds are made up of cedar shavings, turning muddy in the rain, so dress appropriately in shoes you don’t care about too much.
2. Bring cash
ATMs are located around the grounds, but with up to 10,000 people walking through the maze each evening, you might want to avoid standing in lines for money to spend at the market, food trucks, and drink bar.
3. Wheelchairs and strollers need big wheels
The maze isn’t wheelchair-accessible without large wheels because of the cedar shavings. Same goes for strollers.
4. Bring a camera
With dozens of light sculptures, hanging strings of lights, and soap-based snow machines, you’ll want to capture some memories!
