Aldergrove’s Amazon warehouse was bustling with activity due to a visit from some furry friends.
HERO DAWG’s Pet Therapy brought by several dogs for a wellness visit with employees on Tuesday, May 14, as a way the company is promoting mental health and well being for May’s Mental Health Awareness Month.
Employees were greeted by a Bernese Mountain dog, Golden Retriever, and Chihuahua.
Maanasa Alapati, operations manager of the local warehouse, said the visit highlighted the impact of canine companionship on employee well being.
“At Amazon, we prioritize our employees’ well being and are committed to providing the resources they need to thrive both personally and professionally,” she said.
Carey McBeth, founder and executive director of HERO DAWGS, said its important for companies to prioritize the mental health of their employees.
“By providing access to resources and initiatives like the visit from therapy dogs, Amazon is fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture,” she said.
The therapy dogs visited the Amazon warehouse in Burnaby and Surrey, and will be in Delta on May 22.
