Trans Mountain has announced that all major pipeline construction work in Langley, as well as Surrey and Abbotsford, is complete.
The project to almost triple the capacity of the oil pipeline, which runs from Northern Alberta to a refinery in Burnaby, has taken years and gone tens of millions of dollars over budget.
While work continues on a few locations in B.C., Trans Mountain announced last week that the only ongoing work in the Langley area will be intermittent work by crews installing valves, cleaning up right of ways and road access sites that were built during the construction, and re-seeding, re-planting, and land reclamation work around the route.
Construction began locally in 2022.
