Someone fired shots into a grocery store in Fernridge on the weekend of March 8 and 9, and Langley RCMP are investigating.
Staff arrived at the IGA in Fernridge, at the corner of 200th Street and 24th Avenue, just before 6 a.m. and called the RCMP to report finding bullet holes, said Cpl. Craig Van Herk, spokesperson for the local detachment.
Officers found evidence consistent with shots being fired into the store, he said.
“The shots occurred overnight after all staff had left, so thankfully no one was inside,” said Van Herk.
The Langley RCMP General Investigation Section has taken over the file and is investigating.
This week, officers were canvassing the area around the store for security video footage that might help shed light on the gunfire.
