One man has been arrested and faces possible criminal charges after an alleged attack on a health-care worker at Langley Memorial Hospital on Saturday, March 8.

Langley RCMP officers responded just after midnight to a report of an assault in progress, said Sgt. Zynal Sharoom, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.

Sharoom confirmed it was a physical assault and said that an edged weapon was produced during the attack.

"It’s deeply concerning, not only or the community but also for hospital staff who are simply doing their best to provide health care to everyone," Sharoom said. "No individuals were injured as a result of this incident."

The suspect has been arrested and released to appear in court at a later date.

More information may be released after the suspect is officially charged.
