HugABull's 3rd annual fundraiser comes to Langley

Market-style event at Roots & Wings Distillery on Sept. 14

For a third year, HugABull Advocacy & Rescue Society is holding its free annual fundraiser event at the Roots & Wings Distillery on Saturday, Sept. 14.

The society, a registered charity that focuses on support and outreach for bully-breed dogs, has matched more than 1,500 breed ambassadors to homes since its foundation in 2003, said Malone Guenther of the fundraising team.

"We advocate for the responsible ownership of all breeds and for evidence-based, breed neutral laws in our communities," she added.

There will be local vendors, Veg Out vegan food truck, garage sale, HugABull merchandise, enrichment stations for dogs, and two raffles including a 50/50.

The goal is to raise $5,000, and all proceeds will go towards HugABull to help look after dogs in its care.

Well-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome as well, Guenther said.

The event runs from noon to 4 p.m. at Roots & Wings Distillery on 7897 240 St.
