With the start of BC Culture Days fast approaching, many local facilities are preparing to host some family-friendly events to highlight the region's vibrant heritage.
While there will be events spread throughout much of Langley, many of them will be hosted in the heart of the community at the City of Langley Library.
"Fraser Valley Regional Library organizes several events during BC Culture Days," said library manager Dr. Sarwan Singh Randhawa, explaining that there will be five events at the City of Langley Library, with Brookswood Library and Muriel Arnason Library also offering their own events.
But it isn't just libraries that get to have all of the fun, with the Fort Langley National Historic Site also getting in on the BC Culture Days celebration with its annual Cranberry Fest event, which will feature plenty of cranberry-themed entertainment.
This is the 15th anniversary of the province-wide BC Culture Days celebration, which runs from Sept. 20 to Oct. 13. To date, more than 3 million people have taken part in the various events, said BC Culture Days program director Nazanin Shoja.
"This year’s theme of interculturalism is all about celebrating and honouring the connections between diverse people, groups, and cultures," said Shoja. "Through our events’ offerings of creative experiences, we hope to foster a sense of community and appreciation of our cultural intersections."
