A female pedestrian is facing serious injuries after being struck by a pick up truck in Aldergrove Monday afternoon, Dec. 18.

The collision occurred just after 4:20 p.m. at the intersection of 268th Street and 26A Avenue.

Langley RCMP are investigating, and believe the white Dodge pick up truck was travelling south on 268th Street, approaching 26A Avenue where the pedestrian was walking north on 268th Street and crossing 26A Avenue.

The driver of the pick up truck made a left turn onto 26A Avenue and hit the pedestrian.

“The driver remained at the scene and provided first aid until first responders arrived,” said Cpl. Craig van Herk with the Langley RCMP.

BC Emergency Health Services transported the pedestrian to hospital with serious injuries, he said.

“Weather conditions may have been a contributing factor. Alcohol does not appear to have been involved,” van Herk noted.

The intersection was closed for several hours while the scene was investigated and later cleared.
