TransLink has announced a number of increases in bus service along Langley routes, mostly resulting in shorter wait times between buses.
The changes are part of the regular transit service changes that take place four times a year – in January, April, June, and September – based on changes in need, either permanently or on a seasonal basis.
There are no seasonal changes for the Langley area, but a number of service increases were announced, including:
342 Langley Centre/Newton Exchange sees service increases Monday to Friday:
• Every 12 minutes towards Newton Exchange from 6:30-7:30 a.m. (up from 15 minutes)
• Every 15 minutes 2-3:30 p.m. (from every 20 minutes)
• Every 15-18 minutes heading towards Langley Centre from 6-7 p.m. (up from every 18-22 minutes)
364 Langley Centre/Scottsdale, increase Monday to Friday:
• Every 15 minutes towards Langley Centre 7-8 a.m. (up from every 20 minutes)
There are also increases on the route on Saturday:
• Every 20 minutes towards Langley Centre from 6-7 a.m. (from 30 minutes)
• Every 20-30 minutes towards Scottsdale Exchange from 6-7 p.m. (from 32-35 minutes)
The 501 Langley Centre/Surrey Central route is cutting wait times on Sunday afternoons on holidays:
• Running every 20 minutes towards Surrey Central from 4-5 p.m. (from 30 minutes)
The 503 Aldergrove/Surrey Central Station route is seeing a number of adjustments, most notably:
• Buses from Langley Centre towards Surrey Central will leave every 6-8 minutes 6:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m. (up from 6-10 minutes)
• Saturdays will see times cut through the mornings and afternoons to early evenings both towards Langley Centre and Surrey Central, with buses leaving every 10-12 minutes.
• Sunday and holiday trips from Surrey Central towards Langley Centre will be extended to Aldergrove at more times.
The 531 White Rock Centre to Willowbrook will start earlier
• First trip towards White Rock leaves at 5:29 a.m., instead of 5:44 a.m.
All the changes take effect on April 21.
