VIDEO: Rain soaks Langley area

River overflows, multiple road closures reported

Heavy rain soaked the Langley area overnight, flooding roads and forcing closures.

Environment Canada issued a rainfall warning for Metro Vancouver predicting total rainfall amounts of 75 to 120 mm.

"Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible," the advisory said.

"If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance. Rainfall warnings are issued when significant rainfall is expected."

In Langley City, the rain caused the Nicomekl River to overflow, blocking pathways.
