VIDEO: Shed destroyed by fire in Willoughby neighbourhood

Northbound traffic on 202A Street temporarily blocked Saturday, Jan. 20

Langley Township fire crews responded to reports of a residential structure fire Saturday morning, Jan. 20, which turned out to be a barn in the backyard of an abandoned property in the 7600-blk of 202A Street.

There was also a report of an explosion in the area, assistant fire chief Kevin Snowdon told the Langley Advance Times on scene.

“The barn was fully engulfed when our crews arrived and we’re still just working on suppression at this time,” he explained.

Crews arrived on scene just before 11 a.m., and no injuries were reported.

Traffic was blocked by Langley RCMP going north, but southbound traffic could get through while fire crews continued to suppress any hot spots.
