Aldergrove Junior B hockey team’s 3-1 win puts them at 24 points in the season

The Aldergrove Kodiaks improved their standing to to 24 points in 24 games after defeating the Langley Trappers 3-1 Wednesday at George Preston Recreation Centre.

The Trappers opened the scoring on a penalty shot in the first period by Trapper Jake Mulder, but Kodiak Hayden Vetterl evened it up in the second period, assisted by Lucas Thompson and Jesse Conroy.

Trappers affiliate keeper Mitchell Davis faced a barrage of Kodiak shots in all three periods, stopping all but two of 48 shots on his net, while the Trappers only managed to put 14 shots at the Kodiaks’ net minder Michael Lauriente.

The third period saw Kodiak Benjamin Meng score on the power play, assisted by Conroy and Paulvir Dosanjh, followed by an empty netter in the final minute by Vetterl, assisted by Dosanjh and Davin Padgham.

The Kodiaks killed all four of their penalties, and scored on one of nine power plays that night.

Game stars went to Trapper Davis, Kodiak Conroy and Trapper Mulder.

The Kodiaks now stand at 24 points after 24 games, with 12 wins and 12 losses.

The Kodiaks’ next game will be at home on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 7:15 p.m. at Aldergrove Credit Union Community Centre.
