Vancouver Giants have announced the signing of 2007-born forward Caden Cail (Kamloops) to a WHL scholarship and development agreement.

The 6’1”, 185 lb. forward went undrafted in the 2022 WHL prospects draft, but was listed by the Giants midway through last season and followed it up with a strong training camp, which was capped off with a two-goal performance at the annual Legends Cup Quinn vs. Howe game on Sept. 2, with Cail scoring for victorious team Howe, which won 14-2.

“Caden is a big, talented forward, who improved significantly over the course of the last several months,” Giants General Manager Barclay Parneta said. “His growth last season and his impressive performance at camp has us excited for his future with the Giants.”

Cail just turned 16 last month, and spent last season playing for Delta Hockey Academy in the U17 prep division as a 15-year-old, where he registered five goals and 11 assists for 16 points in 33 games. The year prior, Cail produced 14 points (5G-9A) in 26 games for Delta Hockey Academy’s U15 Black team.

In his first game as a Giant, playing a preseason match against Prince George, Cail scored two goals, as Vancouver downed the Cougars 8-4 on Friday, Sept. 8 in Port Coquitlam.

The Vancouver Giants home opener is on Friday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. vs the Victoria Royals. Single game tickets are now on sale and can be purchased by clicking here.

Season ticket memberships are also still available and start as low as $17 per game.
