In a hard fought match, the Aldergrove Kodiaks fell to the Langley Trappers in their third crosstown game this season on Saturday, Jan. 18, with a final score of 4-2 for the Trappers.
Both teams were equally matched during the first period, passing the puck between each side of the rink. But Aldergrove's Dylan Garland changed the game with the night's first goal, with assistance from teammates Luke Calder and Jayan Biring, during a power play.
Langley returned to the ice in second period with renewed energy, keeping Aldergrove on the defense for most of the period.

But Parker Scott tied the game for the Trappers with a goal halfway through second, with assistance from Ryan Nichol and Cole Perry.
With just one-minute left of the period, Langley's Nabeel Moledina put his team in the lead, receiving an assist from Parker Scott and Samuel Brown.
The third period was riddled with penalties for both teams, minor roughing and tripping to misconduct and interference with a goalie.
All the goal action was left to the last five minutes, when Patrick Coopman scored a third goal for Langley, with assistance from Markus Janssens and Brown.
Players were called for a talk with their coaches, before Aldergrove's Grayson Betts made a comeback scoring the team's second goal during a power play, with Jasha Bichin and Connor Cohen assisting.
Kodiaks goaltender Kyle Spak was called from the ice in exchange for a sixth player, but Langley's Ian Burns with Brown assisting took advantage of the open net and secured the win for the Trappers with 59 seconds left of the game.
Spak performed some impressive saves, and was kept just a little busier than rival Dwayne-Paul Cruz as Trappers outshot Kodiaks 37-33.
The three stars of the game were Langley's Scott (first) and Burns (second), and Aldergrove's Garland (third).
Kodiaks remain seventh in the seven-team Harold Brittain Conference of the Pacific Junior Hockey League (PJHL), while the Trappers remain fourth.
