NuFloors Langley is going to the dogs this month … and that’s just how they like it!

Each September, the company donates 10 cents from every square foot of carpet they sell to the Langley Animal Protection Society.

“We have a lot of staff and customers with animals so we thought it was a good fit and a great way to give back to our community,” explains sales manager Wes Schafer.

In addition to providing animal control services for the Township of Langley, LAPS helps find forever homes for lost, stray and unwanted animals. In addition to the NuFloors fundraiser, residents can learn more about LAPS at several coming events:

  • Visit the 10th annual Fall Festival at JD Farms, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9.
  • On Saturday, Sept. 23, bring your dog to the Canadian Museum of Flight, 5333 – 216th St., for some tail-wagging fun at Pups for Pups. Have your dog’s photo taken with the First World War Sopwith Pup plane, enjoy a dancing dogs demo, a pup “pub” and treat station, and aircraft flyover. Visit from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. when admission is by donation to LAPS and the museum.
  • Interested in volunteering? On Oct. 7, LAPS hosts a general orientation, the first step in becoming part of the LAPS team. Tour the shelter and learn about the many volunteer opportunities at LAPS.

40 years of giving back

Serving Langley residents and businesses for more than 40 years, it’s no surprise that community is a big part of the business plan for NuFloors Langley.

“We like to let people know we’re here for the community and like to do what we can to help out,” Schafer says. “As residents of Langley for over 43 years, we take pride in giving back to the community.”

In addition to LAPS, the company is an annual sponsor of the Acts of Kindness Home Renovation Project, which remodels houses for struggling families, the Langley Rotary Wine Festival, the Soroptimist Society’s “Bras for a Cause” event which raises funds for the community and breast cancer programs, the Langley Food Bank and the Salvation Army’s Gateway of Hope homeless shelter.

This commitment to community is also reflected in their commitment to customers.

“We’re very service-oriented. We try to do our best for every client walking through the door,” Schafer says.
