WestEast Y was founded by local entrepreneurs Brandon Roe and Craig Jooste to fit an emerging trend – the demand by knowledge workers and professional service providers for more flexible work spaces.

According to Roe, “In the past, companies would commit to a long-term lease. But our clients – mostly white-collar professionals and small business owners – aren’t looking for that anymore. They want flexibility in the way they work and how they work. This is especially true of the 20 and 30-somethings who have fled Vancouver for the suburbs due to ballooning housing prices in the Lower Mainland.”

That’s what makes WestEast Y different.

“While the downtown Vancouver market is well established, there’s nothing quite like us in all of Langley. We’re bringing a Vancouver-style accelerator and co-working space to a community full of professionals who want to work in such a space but don’t want to have to commute downtown.”

According to Jooste, WestEast Y offers the standard features — flexible boardroom and private office rentals, multiple co-working spaces and a seminar room too. But it’s more than that too.

“We take an active interest in helping our members succeed. Sometimes it’s about making connections among members or someone in my network. It might be taking a look at their marketing plan or pitch deck. Or helping them scale their business up through one of our accelerator programs.”

Although just launched earlier this spring, the founders have already received substantial interest.

Says Jooste, “We’ve received interest from lots of groups. IT professionals, other marketing folk, accountants, mortgage brokers and a number of real estate agents who want a nice office to work in and meet with clients but who don’t want the overcharging that comes with being based in a traditional brokerage. We’ve even had some notable community figures come out and pay us a visit.”

“And one thing they’ve all been telling us is this: ‘You need to get people in to see this. The Langley business community is going to be better off with you guys.’”

That’s why, through till August 31st, Jooste and Roe are making WestEast Y services free to all Langley based businesses and community organizations. Just visit www.westeasty.com or call (604) 534-0915 to learn more, book a tour and reserve your space.
