Looking to change up your go-to sips this holiday season? The team at Brookswood Liquor Store offers five of their favourites!

From cranberries to salted caramel, the holidays were made for special flavours.

The good news? You don’t need to be a professional mixologist to craft a sensational seasonal beverage for your guests, says Brookswood Liquor Store’s Nicole Lumley.

Nicole shares five of this season’s go-to sips, all offering a delicious holiday twist on a familiar classic. Better yet, many of the ingredients are available right in the store.

And if you’re looking for great gift ideas, they have that too, including an exceptional selection of craft beers and whiskies, premium BC wines and distilled liquors, plus made-to-order gift baskets and gift cards. They’re also part of Skip the Dishes, with free delivery in December.

Cheers!

3 Tbsp Grand Marnier

1 bottle of Lamarca Prosecco, chilled

Garnish of orange zest curls

Method

Combine chilled cranberry juice and Grand Marnier in a pitcher and stir well.

Pour into champagne flutes, about one-third up the glass.

Top with Prosecco and garnish with orange curl.

2. Eggnog Mudslide

Ingredients

1 part Kahlua

1 part Tito’s Handmade Vodka

2 parts Eggnog

Whipped cream

Ground nutmeg

Method

Combine kahlua, vodka and eggnog in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well, then strain into glasses.

3. Raspberry Mule Holiday Cocktail

Ingredients

10 oz. Frozen raspberries

1/2 cup Sugar

3 1/2 cups Water

6 Tbsp Fresh lime juice

1 part Stolichnaya Gold Vodka

2 Limes

Hoopers Ginger Beer

1 cup Fresh raspberries for garnish

Method

Combine frozen raspberries, sugar and water in a small saucepan, bring to a boil then reduce to a low boil/high simmer.

Boil for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, then remove from heat. The fruit will dissolve and the water will become thick and syrupy.

Let the raspberry cordial cool to room temperature, then strain into a bowl using a fine mesh strainer, removing the seeds and chunks. Add lime.

Pour mixture into a sterilized jar.

Combine 1 part Stolichnaya Gold Vodka, 1 part raspberry cordial and 1 part fresh lime juice over ice. Top with ginger beer and garnish with fresh raspberries.

4. Salted Caramel White Russian

Ingredients

Ice

Salt flakes

1 part Salted Caramel Bailey’s

1 part Disaronno Amaretto

Method

Using a teaspoon, drizzle the caramel sauce into the glass while slowly turning the glass for a swirled effect.

Fill the glass with ice. Add liquid ingredients and a few ice cubes to your cocktail shaker, shake well and strain into the glasses.

Sprinkle with salt flakes and garnish with a sprig of rosemary, a little chocolate or candycane.
