There are many reasons a business might choose Langley as their home base. For Kim Galick, owner of Ears Hearing Clinic, it was a no-brainer.
“I’ve literally lived here my whole life. Ready for this? I’ve lived in Langley for 50 years! Wow, that makes me old,” she laughs. “Although Langley was growing ten years ago, it still had that small town feeling. Langley City still feels that way to me. There are many independent businesses, shops and restaurants right in the core of Langley City and it was important to me to support the community where I live.”
That community of small business owners supports her, and she supports them in return.
“Our neighbours, Vicki’s Paw Spa, have helped us more times than we can count! And we do the same for them,” she says.
That community spirit is also behind Ears Hearing Clinic’s yearly participation in the Downtown Langley Business Association’s Christmas shopping contest, this year called Christmastime in the City. Shop downtown at participating businesses from now until Dec. 24 for a chance to win one of ten $1000 prizes in Downtown Dollars!
“Ears Hearing participates every year. I’ve always felt we should support businesses in our own community, especially since the pandemic began. Small businesses need the community’s help more than ever. It’s a struggle every day to compete with the large corporations,” Kim says.
If you purchase hearing aids, hearing aid batteries, Assistive Listening Devices such as amplified telephones, TV Listening Devices or ear protection from Ears Hearing before Dec. 24, just pop your name and phone number on the back of your receipt and pop it in a ballot box to enter the contest!
“It takes creativity to bring the community to our businesses and we are so very thankful to have the DLBA constantly promoting all of the businesses in the downtown core and coming up with ideas to keep the community engaged and interested in our businesses.”

Christmastime in the City isn’t the only way Ears Hearing is giving back this year.
“This holiday season, we’re gifting one person a complimentary pair of hearing aids along with premium care,” Kim says.
