An automated phone audit to determine how well the Langley Advance is reaching readers is underway.

While the calls will be coming from a U.S.-based number, Advance publisher Lisa Farquharson assures residents that the survey is not spam.

The surveys are being conducted by third-party auditors, between Dec. 12 and 14, to ensure readers and advertisers are well served.

“We want people to know they could be called,” Farquharson said. “It’s just part of our auditing process.”

Alliance for Audited Media, a non-profit organization, will conduct the survey.

Respondents will be asked if they regularly receive a copy of the Advance.

Live follow-up calls will be made to households where there was no answer or a hang-up.
