Speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in a head-on collision between a pickup and a commercial truck in South Langley.

At 4:30 p.m. on Dec. 16, a 27-year-old Delta man was driving west in the 21300 block of 16th Avenue, said Cpl. Holly Largy,

The pickup had been driving erratically, and according to witnesses it drove into the oncoming lane, Largy said.

The pickup slammed into a flat deck truck heading east.

The pickup driver was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Largy said. The commercial truck driver, a 65-year-old from Lynden, Wash., was not hurt.

The Integrated Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Service (ICARS) helped Langley RCMP Traffic Services with the investigation.

The RCMP Client Support and Victim Services team was also brought in.

Anyone who saw the crash and has not yet spoken to police is asked to call the Langley RCMP at 604-532-3200.
