Langley RCMP are investigating the cause of a Saturday afternoon fire in the 24800 block of 28 Avenue that destroyed an outbuilding, including the contents of the structure.

According to resident Art Bandenieks, smoke was coming through the eaves when one of the neighbours called 911 around 4 p.m.

“The fire was quite persistent,” Bandenieks said.

The residence on the property was not damaged.

Multiple fire trucks arrived at the scene as well as police and an ambulance as back up.

No serious injuries were reported.
