Starting in the shadow of the Fort Langley National Historic Site, 1,500 cyclists headed out for the annual Prospera GranFondo bike ride early on July 19.

The fourth annual event saw riders take on 50 km, 88 km, or 160 km routes. The longest route, a full 100 miles, led riders as far east as Yarrow before heading back over Sumas Mountain and through Glen Valley to the Fort.

The non-profit event’s proceeds go to organizations promoting youth cycling in B.C., including the iRide program, Devo, and Bridging the Gap.
