Langley Township is holding an open house for the Brookswood-Fernridge Community Plan Update to seek feedback on a preliminary draft plan,

The draft plan can be seen online tol.ca/brfrcp.

Members of the public are being encouraged to come to the event to share their views on the new draft.

The Township has been hosting a number of open houses and planning sessions on the future of Brookwood-Fernridge over the past several months.

A previous attempt to create a new community plan proved so controversial that council voted to scrap it and start over. Residents objected to the level of density and population growth planned for Fernridge, which is currently mostly low-density and semi-rural.

As the plan has slowly moved forward, developers have started building single family housing in Fernridge using the guidelines for the old plan.

The open house wil be held May 16, from 3-8 p.m. at the George Preston Recreation Centre at 20699 - 42 Avenue.
