Louie Tolnay wonders if parents in Brookswood know where their teenagers were early Sunday morning, after large rocks were thrown through the windows of two homes — one leaving shattered glass all over a bed.
Two Brookswood homeowners were shaken from their sleep around 4 a.m. by the sound of glass breaking.
“Kids threw a rock at our downstairs window and upstairs window simultaneously and smashed them. Glass and a two-pound boulder landing on us in our beds,” Tolnay posted on a Brookswood Facebook page. “No physical injuries thank god.”
Had that been a rock into a baby crib, the outcome could have been much more serious, the post continued.
He said the blinds caught the bigger pieces of glass that otherwise could have cut them.
Langley RCMP confirm that they were called to a home at 205A Street and 42 Avenue around 4 a.m. after rocks were thrown through two windows.
Around 10 minutes later a front bay window of a home at 204 Street and 42 Avenue was smashed by someone throwing a rock through it, confirmed Langley RCMP Cpl. Craig van Herk. No one was injured in either incident.
No suspects were found but the intent was definitely to smash windows in homes, said van Herk.
“There was definitely intent there, but there is no information to say this was targeted. It was likely youth in the area, but it is challenging to investigate because we don’t have a lot to go on,” he noted.
“It is alarming that this happened. The only positive to this is we didn’t get any other reports of this kind of thing happening,” said Van Herk.
Likely night patrols will be beefed up in the area, said police.
