The night before the Langley Good Times Cruise-in, drivers of classic cars, hot rods, and custom vehicles began gathering for an unofficial car show.
Most of the cars gathered at the parking lot of the Tim Hortons and ICBC offices on Logan Avenue and 203rd Street.
Johnny Roadman and Jay Peterson came up from Seattle for the Cruise-in.
"Every year, we love this show," Roadman said.
They brough Roadman's 1950 Ford Business Coupe in bubble-gum pink.
"That's what they did back in the '50s, they did pinks and baby blues," said Roadman.
Pat and Leigh O'Donnell of South Surrey were back with their 1930 Ford Cabriolet. Pat said he won't be showing the car, but the couple were planning to come and see the other cars in the show.
The O'Donnell's Cabriolet was purchased in 2005 and only finished earlier this year.
"We drive it any time," said Pat.
Around the downtown area, people put out lawn chairs on the sidewalk as the cars headed out to cruise up and down Fraser Highway, 200th Street, Logan and Industrial Avenues, and 203rd Street.
“The RCMP was ecstatic about how things went Friday night,†Langley Good Times Cruise-in president Eric Taylor said. “They were very pleased with the conduct of the guys who were cruising, and there were a lot of people cruising up and down Fraser Highway.â€
