Langley RCMP are investigating after a cat was shot with a pellet gun in Brookswood on Saturday, July 23.
The orange tabby came home with a large pellet lodged in its ear. It's unknown exactly where the cat was when it was shot, but it lives in the area of 44 Avenue and 202 Street.
The owner reported the shooting to police, who are investigating, Cpl. Holly Largy said.
It's not known if other such attacks on animals have occurred in Brookswood, but if so, police urge residents to report them.
The pellet could have been fatal or caused serious injury had it hit the cat in the eyes or punctured any vital organs.
