A cement truck driver was airlifted to hospital with head injuries after a rollover crash on 16th Avenue Tuesday afternoon.
At about 12:45 p.m., the fully-loaded westbound cement truck went off the road in the 24300 block, hitting a driveway and shearing off a power pole.
The truck rolled and came to rest in the trees, said Cpl. Holly Largy, spokesperson for the Langley RCMP.
Langley Township firefighters extracted the driver and he was rushed to hospital by Air Ambulance.
The crash knocked out power to the surrounding area.
While BC Hydro deals with downed wires, the BC Conservation Service is working on an oil leak from the vehicle.
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Enforcement agency is on the scene as well, inspecting the truck, said Largy.
Police expected 16th Avenue to stay closed until 4 p.m. and were asking drivers to divert around the area.
