An outdoor ice skating rink, giant candy canes, and mounds of “snow” appeared outside a North Langley church last week.

It was part of the filming for Four Christmases and a Wedding, a TV movie filming for seeral days at St. Nicholas Catholic Church on 87th Avenue in Walnut Grove.

Langley has become a popular location for filming made-for-TV Christmas movies, with most of them produced over the summers.

Actors, including kids “skating” by wearing bags on their feet while sliding on a plastic surface, filmed a number of scenes at a Christmas village set up outside the church.

In the meantime, later this week the Langley Centennial and BC Farm museums will be playing host to film crews.

A TV movie, called Welcome Home Warrior, is being filmed between the two neighbouring locations on King Street in Fort Langley this week.

Once again, it appears Christmas will arrive in August, with snow expected to be on the ground outside the historic sites.
