City Q14: 20 Questions for Langley City Council candidates

Dave Hall – No, but the demand forces seem that there is never enough to meet the demand. The City needs to more vocally oppose government downloading, speak up for inclusion and accessibility, upgrade Building Code requirements for safety and insist on first response protocol review and timely ambulance attendance.

Miriam Marshall – No. I was surprised to learn that an official seniors committee does not exist in our City.  I see this as a gap in communication and believe that staff and council need insight to issues concerning seniors.  I would like to see a seniors committee with a member of council and staff present, as this is a viable means for providing insight, understanding, and an official avenue for clear communication.  Once this is in place, this will act as a tool to assist the City in serving this seniors better.

Nathan Pachal – No. I believe that the City needs to partner with community organization to ensure the City it doing enough to support our seniors.

Carla Robin – No. More involvement from seniors in the decision-making process is important and that’s why I worked diligently with seniors and the City to ensure that seniors have representation and therefore a voice on City Committees. Seniors will become an increasing portion of the population in the future in the City. Their experience, expertise and passion provides a wealth of information that will benefit the City in all realms moving forward.
