Crime prevention proves popular

The Langley RCMP’s well-reviewed course on crime prevention is returning for a second year.

The free Crime Prevention Academy was offered for the first time in 2010 by the Langley Community Policing Unit for residents of Langley City and Township.

There were six sessions, each composed of two one-hour lectures by members of the RCMP, Langley School District, ICBC and municipal fire and bylaws departments.

Participants gave the program a thumbs-up in written evaluations.

“I found the entire program very interesting, and wish I could have taken it long ago. I would highly recommend it,” one person stated.

This year the free Crime Prevention Academy will begin weekly sessions (7 to 9 p.m.) on Wednesday, March 23, ending Wednesday, April 27.

Seating is limited and you must register to attend. For more information or to register, call 604-532-3212.
