A fight over a girl seems to have landed one young man in Langley Memorial Hospital for treatment of a stab wound to his gut early Sunday.

At about 1 a.m. on Nov. 1, the police were called to an altercation on Douglas Crescent by Douglas Park.

“It wasn’t a stranger incident,” explained Langley Sgt. Ravi Pawar.

A 21-year-old Langley man was stabbed in an altercation and received non-life threatening injuries to his abdomen.

A 23-year-old Langley man was taken into custody. Pawar said he remained on scene after the incident.

“It is believed to be over a girl,” Pawar said.

Alcohol was considered a factor.

Police are recommending charges of assault causing bodily harm and assault with a weapon.
