There are three candidates for mayor in Langley City this year, although only two of the candidates have a high political profile.
Former City mayor and ex-Liberal MLA Peter Fassbender is running to get his job back, following the retirement of incumbent mayor Ted Schaffer. Challenging him will be current City Councillor Val van den Broek, who has been busy securing local endorsements.
Also on the ballot will be Serena Oh, best known locally for suing the City after she came last out of nine candidates in a 2016 by-election. Coun. Nathan Pachal won that seat.
