Thursday night’s windy weather knocked out power to several thousand people in North Langley.

According to BC Hydro, power was lost by more than 6,800 customers, including homes and businesses, after a tree fell on power lines at 11:44 p.m.

Power was out in an area that stretched from 200th Street in the west as far east as 216th Street, and from 97th Avenue in Walnut Grove down into Willoughby south of the Trans Canada Highway.

The power was restored before 1:30 a.m. Friday.
